In a remarkable fusion of technology and art, legendary composer and artist Ryuichi Sakamoto collaborated with Tin Drum to create a groundbreaking mixed reality concert event, premiering at The Shed in New York City. This innovative experience, titled KAGAMI, which means "mirror" in Japanese, showcased Sakamoto playing ten compositions presented in surround sound. The event seamlessly blended augmented photogrammetry-based 3D footage with real-world space, offering a visionary glimpse into the future of performance art.

KAGAMI's unique approach captivated audiences by merging the physical and digital realms. Sakamoto's compositions were brought to life through advanced technology, creating a mixed reality presentation that transcended traditional concert experiences. The event demonstrated how new technology could intersect with and enhance performance art, providing an immersive and engaging experience that resonated with attendees.

The task of documenting this innovative virtual experience was entrusted to Experienced Visuals, who faced the challenge of capturing the essence of KAGAMI without the physical presence of Maestro Sakamoto. Instead, their focus was on how people interacted with the exhibit and with each other within the real space. By observing and recording the audience's engagement and reactions, Experienced Visuals managed to convey the profound impact of the mixed reality concert.

Experienced Visuals' documentation highlighted the various ways attendees experienced KAGAMI. The images captured the awe and wonder on their faces, the immersive interaction with the augmented reality elements, and the overall atmosphere of the event. This approach not only showcased the technological marvel of KAGAMI but also emphasized the human connection and emotional responses elicited by the concert.

Through their meticulous work, Experienced Visuals succeeded in presenting a compelling narrative of KAGAMI's premiere at The Shed. Their photographs and videos brought to life the intricate interplay between technology and art, offering a glimpse into the future of live performances. The documentation of KAGAMI stands as a testament to the transformative power of mixed reality in the arts, celebrating Ryuichi Sakamoto's visionary creativity and the limitless possibilities of technological innovation in performance art.
